CDC Small Business Finance is proud to
announce that six scholarships to date have been awarded in the name of Arthur
H. Goodman Memorial Scholarship. Recipients have gone on to attend colleges
such as Cal Poly, NAU, and San Diego State.
After Art Goodman, CDC Small Business
Finances
founder and president died in 1998, an endowment fund was established to
provide scholarships in perpetuity for community college graduates moving on to
a university with a demonstrated interest in improving their communities
through careers in economic and community development.
Scholarships of $2,000 each are
awarded annually to female and minority community college graduates who will
continue their educations in a four-year university program. Students in San
Diego, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and Imperial counties are eligible to
apply.
CDC is committed to growth, and this
scholarship endowment is yet another vehicle for CDC to build and fortify local
communities. Our future rests on the shoulders of todays youth, and
this scholarship assists young people who share our commitment.
The Arthur C. Goodman Memorial
Scholarship endowment currently totals over $138,000 and is always growing. We
look to further our commitment by building the endowment even more in the next
year. For information on contributing or applying for a scholarship, contact
